Aviation Hangars
Overview
Pre-engineered hangar packages scoped around aircraft dimensions, door systems and operating requirements. Span, height, fire protection and airport approvals must be resolved for the specific project.
Key Features
Common Uses
Package Considerations Before Ordering
A hangar package should be scoped around the actual aircraft and operating requirements. A generic span does not establish wingtip clearance, door clearance or suitability for every aviation use.
Aircraft and access
Provide aircraft dimensions, required movement clearances and intended maintenance activities. Confirm usable clear height and door opening geometry with the aircraft/door suppliers and design team.
Door and structural coordination
Bi-fold, hydraulic and other hangar doors have different support, movement and loading requirements. Door engineering, supply and installation must be explicitly assigned and coordinated with the building manufacturer.
Airport and life-safety requirements
Airport, aviation, fire-protection and occupancy requirements vary with site and use. They must be reviewed by the appropriate authorities and qualified professionals. Fire suppression is not assumed included in a metal-building material package.
Procurement readiness
Resolve structural inputs, foundation reactions, access, unloading and erection responsibility before ordering. Separate steel-system pricing from doors, specialized equipment, utilities and other construction costs.
Plan the Complete Building Scope
Use these guides to identify package inclusions, professional dependencies and separately contracted work. MBR can review your requirements before procurement; no construction scope is assumed included.
